Basic French for travelers
« Tu » or « Vous » ? When the two possibilities exist, I will write both, starting with « vous ». « Vous » is the polite form, used with people we don’t know (except children), people we know but not close people, and older people. Of course, they may tell you that they prefer that you use « tu », but when in doubt, « vous » may be a better idea. With friends and family, « tu » is the best choice.
